Cycle Six - Fly you fools

Weeks passed, and Liam's gang huddled together in the remains of their hideout, keeping to the shadows and scavenging whatever scraps they could find. The fires from the chemical rain had died down, but the hive had grown even more treacherous. The streets were ruled by desperation, and every corner hid a new danger. It wasn't just the hunger or the roaming predators; it was the growing realization that this part of the hive was dying, and with it, any chance of survival.

At first, the gang clung to hope that the chaos would subside, that things might stabilize. But it became clear that there would be no return to the fractured stability they once knew. The hive's infrastructure was collapsing, entire sections falling into the depths. The gangs of heretics and mutated horrors were multiplying, and rumors spread of a plague infecting those who lingered too long. Supplies were dwindling, and every attempt to gather more grew riskier.

Liam sat with Hans and Gerald, their faces illuminated by the faint glow of a jury-rigged lamp. "We can't stay here," Hans muttered, breaking the silence. "This place is done for. If we don't move soon, we'll die here like the rest."

Gerald nodded, his expression grim. "The wastelands outside the hive are dangerous, but at least there's space out there, freedom. We need transport, something to get us through the ash storms."

The Reverend had been quiet in recent days, his fiery sermons replaced by a brooding silence. But as the gang brought the idea to him, his eyes lit with a familiar zeal. "The Emperor's will does not confine us to this hive," he said. "If we are to spread His light, we must survive. The wastelands will be our next crusade."

The gang set to work, gathering intelligence on transport. Rumors spoke of an abandoned cargo hauler deep in the lower levels, guarded by both cultists and strange, hulking creatures. It wouldn't be easy, but it was their only chance. Armed with scavenged weapons and steely resolve, Liam and the gang prepared for their most dangerous mission yet—a final gamble to escape the dying hive and claim a new future in the wastelands.

  • As before, there are no new income generated from territories after the first battle.
